Hurricane Katrina Legal Advice Clinic (NEW)
The mission of Loyola Law Clinic's faculty and students last fall was to provide immediate legal aid to hurricane evacuees. Transplanted themselves, the faculty and students set up the Hurricane Katrina Legal Advice Clinic in Houston, where Loyola was hosted by the University of Houston Law Center. Clinic Director William P. Quigley and his staff shifted their litigation driven clinic to an advice clinic, focusing on the issues faced by those who had to evacuate after Hurricane Katrina. In partnership with other Texas agencies, the 15 clinic students assisted more than 1,000 evacuees who came to the Greater Houston Disaster Relief Center (GHDRC) and at hotline centers between October and December. The Katrina clinic continues to operate out of Loyola Law School, and is primarily an advice clinic, as opposed to a legal representation clinic. Contact Information.
